N scale small layout
Your house is small? Your budget is modest? Here’s a pretty idea for a small N scale layout, designed for Kato Unitrack on 2′ x 4′:
What is it all about? A romantic idyll with bridges, tunnels and a castle on small 2 x 4. We have a runaround oval on two levels which ensures that our model trains always have a long ride when leaving the sleepy train station.
Of particular interest, however, are the sidings. There is always a freight wagon somewhere to shunt. Our fantasy sees a lot of options for N scale model kits. Let there be a little sawmill, stone quary, brewery, goods shed, whatever. Check the possibilities! But choose N scale buildings with small dimensions that fit into the scenery.
This small N scale track plan is an extended version of this mini “Brezel” idea. An extra foot in the length ensures that everything is more relaxed. The gradients on this small layout are not as steep and the landscape offers more space for design.
